Collaborations versammelt rund 80 künstlerische Begegnungen aus den 1980er- und 1990er-Jahren. Im Zentrum steht die Zusammenarbeit selbst als bildgebender Prozess. Ausgangspunkt war ein experimentelles fotografisches Verfahren, bei dem entwickelte Bilder zunächst unsichtbar gemacht und unter Tageslicht wieder sichtbar wurden. Dadurch verlagerte sich die Bildentstehung aus der Dunkelkammer in den öffentlichen. Gesten, Materialien und Interventionen der beteiligten Künstlerinnen und Künstler wurden Teil des fotografischen Prozesses. Das Bild entstand als Ergebnis von Austausch, Handlung und gegenseitiger Einflussnahme.
Collaborations versteht Fotografie damit nicht als abgeschlossenes Objekt, sondern als offenen Raum kollektiver Autorschaft, Transformation und Beziehung.
Collaborations brings together around 80 artistic encounters from the 1980s and 1990s. At its core is collaboration itself as an image-generating process. The project began with an experimental photographic technique in which developed images were rendered invisible and then made visible again in daylight. This shifted the creation of the image from the darkroom into public space. Gestures, materials, and interventions by the participating artists became part of the photographic process. The image emerged through exchange, action, and mutual influence.
